Professional Background

Shellina has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Regina. She has over a decade of experience working with people in crisis providing services like crisis management, counselling, advocacy, public and professional education and more. Shellina is a registered social worker with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW) and is committed to upholding ethical standards in her practice.

Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation

Shellina is deeply committed to the principles of Truth and Reconciliation. She actively works towards this commitment in several ways, some of which include:

-Educating herself about the history and ongoing impacts of colonization

-Exploring how colonization and Eurocentric systems of science and education have shaped approaches to mental health and well-being.

-Engaging in ongoing critical self-reflection to build awareness, confront her own biases, and foster personal growth.

-Engaging in opportunities to learn more and practice cultural methods such as smudge, beading, attending round dances, and powwows

About Shellina

Shellina loves building real connections to help people tackle life's ups and downs. With deep empathy and experience, she's had the honor walking alongside many folks on their journeys toward healing and personal growth. Shellina felt that there was more to healing than talking so embarked on her journey learning more about trauma and the body and likes to incorporate her somatic skills throughout her sessions.

Shellina grew up in the Saskatoon area, living both a rural lifestyle as well as urban in her teen years. She moved to PA in 2011 and has grown to love the city and the friendly community. Shellina enjoys playing sports with her friends such as, curling, slo-pitch, flag football, and volleyball to name a few. She also enjoys exploring her creative side through various crafts. When time permits she enjoys listening to audio books, gardening, tenting at nearby lakes, and spending time with her pets in the backyard or going for a bike ride on the rotary trail during a nice day.
